Hundreds of cars rolled into the heart of Chicago on a warm sunny spring morning. They were carefully directed to their position at Lowend Garage’s Cars at Lincoln Common. The steady stream of bellowing exhausts and engines revving on their approach began to build anticipation and excitement we hadn’t had in years. Cars at the Commons would be a “different” type of car show we’d never experienced before.
The philosophy of Cars at Lincoln Common is simple; “If you love your car, we do too.” Lowend’s goal was to put on a show with the city’s architecture as the backdrop while allowing car enthusiasts from all walks of life to have a place at the event. A variety of cars isn’t necessarily uncommon, but what makes this event unique is that each body style, from a van to a supercar, had a spot with a view of the city surrounding it.
The car entries at the event were specifically selected to participate in the curated experience. Hardly did you see two of the same manufacturers near each other, allowing your experience to evolve from corner to corner of the Common’s grounds. The view of the show would shift and either grow or shrink, giving you something different to look at as you navigated the Commons.
We could wax poetic about how special it felt to be there, surrounded by our favorite cars, but we’d rather show you what it looked like through the lens of Turner Van Erman (@chasing_carstve) and Only1Schu Creative (@only1schu). Check out the gallery below.

Special thanks to Lowend Garage and Lincoln Common for hosting the event, the car owners who appeared, and whoever made the weather perfect – you the real MVP.
